I really really needed a wallet and my brother was the best and got me a really nice one. I have been looking at the Marc Jacobs one forever, somehow it’s not what I am looking for and then I saw this one and the red part made me fall in love. I love small details that stand out and I also didn’t want the zipper and more of an old school model so I am very happy I found this one. Now I just need to complete it with a Michael Kors purse that I want and it is perfect for the everyday use. 

Now I can shop with a smile :)

 

Today was our monthly Book club meeting and since it was my book I chose the place and had to choose Raku, my favorite restaurant in my area and the best sushi ever. And the book we read was called: Before I fall by Lauren Oliver. I saw a friend of mine reading it and she gave it great review and I got really interested. I really liked the book, even though its base from American high school. It’s about a girl who relived the day of her car crash and a lot about bullying. I think every high school should read this book, just to remind kids how mean they can be to each other and that it doesn’t have to be that way. What we do or say can impact so many different people in so many ways.


I am very excited for our next book. 

So It’s been a while since I blogged and I have had my hands full last week, with SWEA, Thanksgiving and my brother visiting. I had two Thanksgiving dinners, one on the actual day and one on Sunday for my brother. So there has been a lot of food eating but also food making. I have made so many different desserts that I think I am on break for a while. I made a daimcake, Leilas blueberry cheesecake, margängcake, two sweet potato casseroles, rimbo bullar, cockosbollar and bluberry crumble pie. The worst part is that my kitchen is pretty small and I had to clean all the stuff between so I could re-use it. So YES, I am taking a small break from baking. But my mom sent me some saffron so that I can make lussebullar before Christmas.

Anyway, I also have some great news and I am going to tell people here on the blog, since some don’t even know that I have been interviewing for some positions. I have got an offer for a job in marketing and I am starting this Monday with a Marketing team in the healthcare market. I am so happy, but don’t want to make a big deal about it, since last time didn’t go so well. I really want this one to work out, since I have always had a dream to work with marketing since I started collage. So, I’ll keep you updated how everything goes. But for now, I am just going to be happy. I feel proud of myself, never giving up when it comes to job hunting. I applied to maybe 300 jobs and only 2 companies heard back to me and I was lucky to nail the interview. But it was also a position I really wanted, so for once I felt like I found a position I really wanted to work with. But I am not going to say too much and see what happens.

So yeiii, great news…I have not told all people yet, just want to keep it low key for a while and pray it all works out. Thank you for all your support. I have been so incredibly blessed to have met so many many people to give me so much support. Thank you back home, but also thank you to all my new amazing friends here. Having great people around you makes me happy.

Thanksgiving Sunday Funday 

What a few days and the holiday season just started :) 

 

Weekends go by fast, we all know that and somehow my hubby and me get less sleep on the weekends than we do on the weekdays. Last Thursday I went back to Raku (my favorite Sushi restaurant ever) for Joya’s birthday. We had missed her birthday party and decided to take her out and like me she is a huge sushi fan.  Friday ended up being bowling night until late 2 am in the morning but it was fun and at the end I lost my mojo went down quick, but it was lots of fun.

This weekend was my hubbys American Football Bengali Tournament, and as a supporting wife, me and all the other wife’s and girlfriends etc. went to see the game. Our team ended up doing very well and we stayed at the field the whole day. It was cold but a lot of fun cheering for our boys.  Our amazing team came to the final and won silver and we celebrated at a Korean restaurant called Honey pig and it was amazing food and the place felt very authentic. I really love Korean food so I will definitely go back there soon.

Speaking of food, this is where it begins, THANKSGIVING IS BAAACK! This week is Thanksgiving week and also now my favorite holiday. Thursday is actual thanksgiving and we are celebrating with a group of family friends. Thursday is another party at my brother in law’s house in celebration for my brother coming to the states (yayayayaya) and Sunday I am hosting a party for the younger generation at my in-laws house. SO I HAVE TO make sure my training is on top, cause there is one thing for sure, this food is NOT healthy but damn good and I love this type of food. I am also making a lot of stuff so I need to plan now.

Work out hard and eat well and that’s what I love about life.

Korean is fuuuun!

So I have been hiding something from you for a while and I think its time to come out with it. So some of my friends already know about this and some don’t, but the truth is that I no longer work at my previous job as an accountant. I decided to leave that place and I will not share any comments about the employer what so ever, the decision has nothing to do with the company. However, the reason I decided to leave was very personal and I felt being miserable was not an option. I have been embarrassed to share this news cause I didn’t want to be matched up as a failure.

It was one of the hardest decisions I have made in my life and many tears were shared. Nobody wants to feel like a failure and that was what I felt like for the longest time. Sometimes, we can’t just adjust to everything. Moving to US was a big adjustment for me and that felt easy comparing to getting adjusted to this job. However, I decided that my happiness was more important then anything in this world and trust me, many times I went through all the facts over and over.

Am I stupid?

How hard was it to get a job?

Do I want to go back being a housewife again?

Well that and many many more questions went trough my head and then I decided that I was going to do what I thought was best for me and that’s something I rarely do.

Growing up most of my decisions were made by my parents and their beliefs and what was best for everyone else. Well, even though people may think I am crazy I did a decision I thought could make me happy in the long term.

So yes, I am back where I started a few months ago and looking back on these 1,5 years I can get confused with myself, what exactly have I accomplished? I am 29 years old and I am not sure if I have had a great career yet. When I was younger I for sure though I would be more established by now. But who knows, maybe when I am 50 years old I will look back and see someone who did something great and worried a lot of thing for nothing. You never know where you are going to end up at what age, I guess. Not everyone has his or her life made like the typical human success book (graduated by a certain age, married by an certain age, successful at 26 and kids by 30 etc).

I think my decision made me realize that I need to live for this moment right now, so everyday I try to be happy and do my best to find a job that I think I will like. That’s all I want, to wake up in the morning and go to work and be happy. Is that so wrong? Maybe I wont be the most successful person that I have always dreamt to be, or maybe I will. I don’t know, but I do know what I have and that’s an amazing supportive husband and old and new amazing friends.  I live in a nice cozy house and am blessed to be in a position in my life where I can look for a job at home. The holidays are coming up and everything will be just fine....wherever I end up. 

So its all set, we are going to celebrate the new year coming in Vegas baby. Twice in one year, that’s amazing. We are going with two other couples and I am very very excited. We are going to see a show and spend one night in Grand Canyon, something I have wanted to see all my life. My goal is to see a sunset or a sunrise.  My only problem is to find a dress that I like. I don’t like anything, I have really pretty dress that I have not worn, but the other two girls think its not Vegas enough, so I have to find something soon. I want sequin but with arms….I have to keep looking.

Two Sunday’s in a row I have had two pretty active days, first 10 km and this Sunday it was all about Zumba for Cancer. Me and my 3 girls signed up for a 2 hour zumba class and I have to say it was totally insane and fun. One hour went by really fast and I was jumping all the time. After 1,5 hour my arms and legs were pretty tired but somehow we made it through the whole thing. The money we paid went to breast cancer and most people wore pink. I didn’t have any pink, so maybe next year I’ll wear something pink too.

I love having girls around me who loves to be active, it’s a great way of working out. Get your girls together and go for a zumba class together. We all had a big Mexican dinner after the workout  and talk girly talk, what is better then that? Work out and eat good food, my philosophy in life, work hard eat a lot hihi.

Its Friday night and what do you do to celebrate that weekend is coming party party party? Well, I am sitting in my bed and reading my two favorite magazines hihihi. I know....how boing am I, but the holidays are coming and everyday day of the weekend will be booked so I am just enjoying having a cozi moment by myself.

I don’t have any mayor plans this weekend, but tomorrow I am going to Munia to help her bake a Swedish toskakaka for her to bring to a party and on Sunday I am taking two lovely ladies to do Zumba with me for 2 hour. It’s some kind of Zumba special and I hope we have a great time, while we burn calories. The weather is going to be nice so I am hoping to do a late brunch outside somewhere...
