Jag har äntligen hamnar i USA. Jag ska berätta allt om det, men innan dess vill jag passa på och tipsa om en sak, som jag fick förfrågan om. Indian shopping i London.

Jag är ingen expert, då jag varit många gånger i london, men ofta besöker jag enbart dessa ställen när jag är med mina föräldrar. Men jag skall dela med mig det som jag vet. Det finns flera delar av london som kallas lilla india, eller lilla bangaldesh och lilla pakistan.

Bricklane är den delen av east london där det finns många butiker, men southall och bricklane ligger lite ifrån varandra, så jag skulle välja två olika dagar att besöka dessa delar. Men i southall finns många butiker att shoppa i. Jag brukade alltid köpa 3 delar set och sy upp i min storlek. Man kan antingen sy upp dem där eller så gjorde min mamma detta. 3 delar är det billigaste alternativet. Priser från: 15 pund - uppåt beroende på hur fancy man vill ha. Vill du ha färdiga delar, så varierar detta oerhört, normalt från 25 pund uppåt. Det beror mycket på hur smyckad dräkt man vill ha. Men indisk/bengalisk/pakistans shopping kostar och när man väl börjat, så är det kört. Jag brukar inte kunna shoppa både västerländska kläder och indiska. Min budget brukar inte räcka.

Southall Market

Until recently (2007), Southall Market was the only place in London where horses were still auctioned in the street! The horse market and poultry sales are now closed. Instead, you'll find second hand goods and furniture on a Friday and a general market, with a splash of asian spices and fresh fish on a Saturday.

There are really excellent sari shops in Southall. some of them have wonderful modern designs. Fabric shops, jewellery shops, food shops. From the railway station, go down to the Broadwayand turn left. go along till the shops peter out, cross the road and com back. There are two shoe and handbag shops on the other side with fantastic exotic things. Acrylic heels with glitter in them, and silk evening bags. 

The nice things are not all that cheap, but very different. There are very cheap and cheerful things too. All the cafes are pretty good, but the best real restaurant is Madhu's Brilliant, which has a website

East Ham (sri lankan Hindu area) is good - a few restaurants and lots of sari and gold shops - this is near Green St which also has lots of asian shops.(have only driven through this area and looked more of a muslim area - so you may also get middle eastern foods etc here.

Southall is a large sikh community and lots of sari shops and trinket shops although we didnt find many good restaurants there.- may be we were looking in the wrong place.

Wembley is another good place (sri lankan hindu)- if you come out of the train station turn left and it will be just along the road. Not a lot of stuff but enough sari shops, gold, restaurants and food shops.

I would say sari and indian material is not necessarly cheap. I would say that Brick Lane is mainly Bangladesh area. I have only added the religion aspect etc in case this is important to you. In east ham there is a temple which is interesting and im sure in the other areas there are as well.

If i was just going for Sari i would go to Southall. Food and restaurant Wembley. Channai Dosi is a good south indian restaurant and they have stores in both wembley and east ham and are always busy so must be good (the amount my husband eats when we go there)
